Itajime Shibori

The silk scarf used as a bandeau top, was dyed using a tight wrapping technique using PVC pipe. The rayon Bolero wrap was made using fan folding, wedge folding, and band wrapping to create the geometric pattern.

Both pieces were made using Procion MX fiber reactive dye and a soda ash salt soak. They were batched for four hours on a hot day out of direct sunlight.
