I have always wanted a dedicated space to work and a way to see my concepts before I start sewing or doing dye work. This design/Inspiration wall was a huge step forward for me.

I started with a 4' x 8 ' 1.5 inch thick piece of foam insulation. It is lightweight, and easy to cut. In fact, since my vehicle is pretty small, we cut the foamboard (using a snap off knife and a very

long ruler) at Home Depot before we loaded it in the car. Special thanks to the HD staff who humored us while we carved up our purchase before checkout!

I used poly cotton batting on two boards and flannel on the other. I work in silk, which does not love sticking to anything, so I still need pins. But the thick board allows me to pin anything, including my bead work, to the boards.
